9 Steps to becoming a successful writer

If you are a newbie, stop worrying

I want to give a shout out and put a comforting arm around all of you who are either new to writing or new to writing on Medium, or both.

If, you have spent many an hour reading through endless articles suggesting all kinds of advice on how to become a successful writer then join the club, me too.

I am sure you will have seen the following, time and time again:

“you must write every day if you are to become a successful writer.”

The trouble with this advice is it puts immediate pressure on a new writer to perform, and guess what, it can be very destructive.

What do they mean?

What they mean is, if you can write every day that is fantastic. It will help you build a body of work much more quickly which in turn is likely to get to more readers in a shorter timespan and in theory, will generate an income much more quickly.

However, there is a problem
