I Survived the Huge England Versus Germany Football Match, but How?

Is “football coming home?”

In my article from yesterday about England’s football clash with Germany at Euro 2020, I promised to write a follow up, if I survived the whole ordeal.

Well, survive it I did, and here it is.

If you remember, we are talking football here, and more specifically the Euro 2020 last 16 clash between England and Germany. The cause of my nerves centred around the fact we (England) had not beaten Germany in a major tournament match since our famous victory of 1966, in the World Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, London. Only the odd 55 years ago!

The Match

Anyway, I needn't have worried. After a nervy start in which Germany was on top and we looked a little nervous, things settled down. A close first half followed with a few chances to either side, but no great alarms.

Time to put the kettle on and make a (very) strong coffee.

The second half continued in a similar fashion before we scored with a great worked goal by Raheem Sterling. This was closely followed by a second from our captain, Harry Kane, and it was all over. Final score, 2–0 to England.
