Sleep, How Important Is It really for Your Mental Health?
Take note, it is very important
Right now, here in England, it is nearly 8pm, and I am beginning to think about slowing down and relaxing before heading off to bed at around 10pm.
Before I go, I decided to do a quick piece of research to find out what the actual benefits of the well known 7–9 hours of sleep actually are.
By the way, the photograph is of our Pug, Prince Bobby. He is demonstrating to you the art of getting enough sleep. Tomorrow, according to my research he will be benefitting from the following:
- Improved memory and cognitive function.
- A boost to his mood and reduced stress levels.
- A strengthened immune system.
- Healthy weight management.
- A reduction of the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes.
- Increased energy levels and physical performance.
- Promotion of cell and tissue repair.
I know for a fact it seems to work for Prince, so why not us?
If you find yourself struggling to focus, feeling tired, washed out, drained, or anything else that doesn’t feel good, try getting at least 7 hours of sleep, consistently. I try to have lights out by 11pm for a 6am wake up. It seems to work for me.
What is your evening going to bed regime?
Sweet dreams!!!
